The Marx Brothers were a popular team of sibling comedians who appeared in stage plays, film, and television. Duck Soup is a great example of a film from 1933 that can easily induce a person into bursts of laughter. It's no. 85 on the American Film Institute's top 100 films list. The best Marx Bros movie ever!
A Night at the Opera is great Marx Brothers entertainment from 1935. It fully deserves its reputation as one of the two best Marx Brothers films, along with Duck Soup. It has comedy, music, and a good cast. The one liners come so fast, keep thinking if you'll remember them.
A Day At the Races is the Marx Brothers' seventh film, released in 1937. It is their last real great film in the sense of it's overall humor and comic genous. The Marx Brothers' second movie, filmed in a studio in Astoria, Queens. It has more than enough scenes of trademark humour from the brothers to compensate. It's also impressive that the film hasn't aged much, given it was made in the early 1930's. It does feel stagy at times, but the Marx's timeless comic style is still fresh after all these years.
Monkey Business is the third of the Marx Brothers' movies released in 1931. The film stars the four brothers Groucho, Chico, Harpo and Zeppo Marx. This film is pretty old, but Marx Brothers remain funny. Their quick wit and one-liners are timeless. All good clean fun.
The Cocoanuts is a great comedy with the Marx brothers, where Groucho runs a hotel that isn't doing so good. Then Chico and Harpo appear and things start going even worse. Zeppo plays a hotel worker. The Cocoanuts is an early Marx movie from 1929. It is their first talky. The Cocoanuts remains a cinematic landmark.
