Escape from L.A. is a great movie, perhaps even Carpenter's best, and Kurt Russel makes Snake Plissken ten times more macho. Escape from N.Y. had a darker atmosphere but L.A. fits it's atmosphere as more light and campy.

This sci fi action movie starred pro wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper. Like most Carpenter films, it's artistic, fun, and intelligent. The film's best line from Piper is "I have came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and i'm all out of bubble gum".

Morgan Freeman's sobering narration had just the right amount of chesty resonance to put you into a deep sleep. No valium required.

David Lynch's Wild at Heart is an amazingly brilliant spectacle for the senses. Almost every scene in this movie ends in a surprising way. A typical Lynch-cocktail of violence, sex and of course bizarre characters. Take a bite of peach. Adult.
