Roland were always pioneers of the rhythm box. They were always pushing the boundaries of what a drum machine should be. It was the TR808, however, that made people sit up and listen. For the first time, here was totally programmable drum machine that allowed you to make your own rhythms almost without restriction.

Kurzweil seem to be specialized in phat sounds, when you hear them you will fall over and cry out of joy, without question the Kurzweil is by far superior.
