Build around 1981 by an Italian organ society called Elka, the Synthex is one of few polyphonic structured machine to have deep bass, rich strings, complex brass sounds and magical electronic sound of pure analog circuits! It has been used by Tangerine Dream and Duran Duran. After they ended production they made a special one for Stevie Wonder.

The Bit 99 is one of the first synthesizers from which traditional knobs and sliders have been banned. The edit method is easy to understand. The Bit 99 can produce a wide variety of sounds but bass sounds are the best. With a polyphony of three notes, instead of six normally, you can have two sounds layered!

Electronic Dream Plant (EDP) first started production of the Wasp in 1978 and continued into the early 1980's. The synth is often thought of as a toy, but it is surprisingly well designed, with many features that most classic synth's could benefit from. The Wasp has been used by 808 State, Dave Holmes, Vince Clarke, WhiteHouse and Add N to (X).

Lee DeWyze has made the Hollywood round on American Idol Season 9. He hails from Mount Prospect, Illinois. DeWyze specializes in strumming an acoustic guitar while singing. The American Idol singer has a gorgeously raspy, and husky voice.

Michael Lynche aka Big Mike, one of the judges' favorite finalists, was nearly ousted from "American Idol" but judges saved him after he received the fewest of America's votes. Lynche will continue in the competition as he takes the stage with the remaining finalists.

Andrew Garcia auditioned for American Idol's ninth season in Los Angeles. Simon called him a genuinely, genuinely good singer after his audition. He is a father hoping to make a better life for his child. This young guy, however, has pulled tremendous traffic to his own Web site even before appearing on screen.

The Performer is a polyphonic analog Strings and Brass machine produced at the end of the 1970's by the Italian synth company. It is slightly compact with just 49 key but it is fully polyphonic. A solid black chassis and wood end-cheeks round out this classic and often overlooked string machine.

The Crumar Spirit was originally designed by Bob Moog himself, Jim Scott & Tom Rhea and released back in 1983. It is a full featured analog monophonic synthesizer with 2 VCO's so it's got a pretty fat tone, but not as much as the classic 3-VCO Minimoog. They are extremely rare only about 50-100 made, used by Pink Floyd.

Mopho Synth is a pretty sweet deal with its sub-octave generators, audio input and feedback options and adds a thirty-two key keyboard and a whole mess of controls. It has a 100 percent analog signal path, ships with a sound bank editor for both Windows and Mac, and it sounds pretty.

The MS6 is a late '80s, 6-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer module from British company Cheetah. Sounds are broken down in five and two User banks, and are grouped in categories such as Strings, Brass, Bass, Effects and so on. This is a great-sounding, classic DCO analog synth

Clavia Nord Lead is the first virtual analog subtractive synthesizer, which was developed in Sweden, being released to the public by Clavia in 1995. This synthesizer was distinctive for its red coloration and knob-laden surface; it was later identified as avant-garde to the Clavia Nord Lead line of synthesizers.
